WHO IS SHE?
Hi! I’m Alaina Clar.
I’m in my 3rd year studying Mechanical Engineering. I am a Harvey Scholar, Emergency Medicine Society Treasurer, Battery Workforce Challenge Safety Officer, Mining Rescue Team Medical Officer and a Mines Women's Rugby Team member…
Off-campus, I am a Volunteer Firefighter. Already having my EMT-B and Wildland Firefighter-II certs, I am currently obtaining my Firefighter-1 and CO State HAZMAT-1 certifications.
I was born Deaf but now have bilateral Cochlear Implants which allow me to hear. This first led me into the world of accessibility, where I am now involved in multiple campus mobility access projects at Mines.
In my tiny bit of free time, I can be found skiing or snowboarding, building random engineering projects, or playing with my cat. My one-eyed cat named Scar is pictured below!
