I’m Alaina Clar, and I’m finishing up my Mechanical Engineering degree and hope to start my Master’s in Engineering Technology Management at the Colorado School of Mines. On paper, engineering is the path I’ve been grinding toward for years, but I’ve always had a passion for media. I’ve been making things online since I was a kid: Lego stop-motion films, skit videos with friends, Minecraft YouTube videos, anything that let me build a little world and show it to people.

Somewhere along the way, “messing around on the internet” turned into actual skills. I learned photography, videography, video editing, graphic design, drones, 3D animation, website building, building and modding PCs, running social pages… and just kept going.

Now I have managed Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts for sports teams, meme pages, fire departments, and various school clubs. Engineering takes most of my day, but media has always been the thread running through my life.
